Here is an idea that’s a little bit zen, a bit out there. It’s the concept that:

Everyone else is afraid of you.

Now, you know that feeling that you get when you go to approach a group of strangers or a stranger and you want to start talking to them and you immediately feel this reaction of uncomfortable, anxious, approach anxiety, whatever you want to call it? It doesn’t feel good. Well, here’s the funny thing: the funny thing is that everybody else in the world feels exactly the same thing about you.

The implication of this is that you’re an incredibly powerful being because you have the ability to make other people feel afraid of you just by walking up to them. Even if you have good intentions of just walking up and saying hi, you have the ability of affecting them very deeply.

Rather than starting to beat yourself up about the fact that you feel shy or you find it difficult to approach people or you get anxious when you see some hot girl and you want to go up and talk to her but you’re like “I don’t know what I’m going to say and I’m starting to feel this anxiety”, consider the fact that everybody else in the world feels that same way about you and the power that you have as a result of that and the fact that you can just relax because we’re really all the same.

Everybody has got the same stuff going on in their head, we’ve all got the same biological wiring and everyone in the world sees you as this incredibly powerful being that has the ability to affect them.

Keep this in mind when you’re meeting people and notice how much your confidence increases when you realise that everybody else is afraid of how powerful you are.
