Hey there, it's Graham again from The Confident Man Project, and I want to teach you this week about how to go out and get yourself decked out in some hot new clothes, not anything like what I'm currently wearing, ironically enough. But that's okay because I'm going to tell you what you need to know here.

So basically the story is that if you are still wearing the sort of clothes that your mother dressed you in when you were a kid, that's probably not the latest fashion of today and it's probably not what you want to be wearing when you hit the town when you're out strutting your stuff, meeting new people and just having a bit of fun.

So here's what I recommend that you do; it's totally worked for me. What you want to do is go down to your local shopping mall or shopping center, whatever it is that they call it in your part of the world, and find one of those little boutique sort of stores that have beautiful female shop assistants in a store full of men's clothing.

Now, if you're like me and you're a bit of a nerd, these are probably the stores that you've been walking past all your life and possibly haven't even ever noticed before. So what you need to do is start paying attention to those stores, and when you're walking past, instead of walking past, turn left and walk inside.

Obviously if you have no fashion sense like me, then you're going to have a bit of a struggle to work out what clothes in this store are the ones that you want to be buying. And my first tip is that these ones are the ones that are not currently on the discount rack, okay, because the ones on the discount rack are the ones that nobody has been buying or that don't fit or are last season's fashion or are all these things that maybe never used to be matter to you, but they got to matter if you want to look confident and want to look like you know what you're doing from a fashion point of view.

I know a lot of guys, you're just not interested in fashion, right? But you might be interested in the girls that are interested in fashion, and so that's why this is worth paying a bit of attention to.

Okay, so how do you pick out the clothes that you actually want to be wearing? Well, that's where the beautiful young shop assistants come in. What you do is you go up to them and you say, "Hey, I want to get a couple of new outfits for going out on the town, nothing too formal, nothing too casual, just something in the middle, that I can go out and just have some fun, look pretty sharp and also look great in, that fit really well and that look fantastic."

So what you want to do is get them to pick out the clothes that they think look great on you because what you want to be doing is looking great for the people who you're wanting to attract and that's where the beautiful shop assistants come in.

Now, you're not there to hit on the shop assistants, right; you're just there to use their fashion knowledge and their fashion sense, and chances are they have some because they're working in a fashion store. Get them to pick clothes out, try them on, find the stuff that fits. You'll know if it doesn't fit because it feels really uncomfortable. Don't worry about how it looks; it may look uncomfortable at first if you're used to dressing like a fashion Nazi, I don't know, a fashion newbie, whatever the word is for people who don't know anything about fashion.

And, yeah, if they say that it looks great on you, well, there's a chance that they're telling the truth. They're not just there to sell you something. Well, they are there to sell you something, but they're there to sell you the stuff that looks good on you.

Take their advice, buy it and fork out a little bit of your cash. So this might cost a little bit of money, but generally what happens is that women spend between three and six times as much on their clothing as guys do, and if you've been spending only like maybe a tenth of what the average woman does on their clothes, then maybe you need to address the balance a bit and get your act together. And this is the way that you do that.

Guys, head out there, get your acts together, go to your mall and check out the fashion store with all the hot clothes for guys, talk to the shop assistants, find out what it is they think looks good on you, get it and you'll be looking sharp next time you hit the town.
