Here is another tip for you to help you build your confidence: And this tip is not original; I’ve nicked this from somebody. I can’t even remember who it was. I’d give them credit if I could, but, well, there you go.

The tip is to walk around like you own the place.

Imagine, for instance, that you’re in a nightclub and you’re walking around. And imagine the difference that it makes between when you’re walking around just as a mere patron that’s looking for someone to meet or looking for some action or is a bit unfamiliar with the territory, compared to when you’re walking like you own the place. And it doesn’t just work in nightclubs.

Walk as though you own the place wherever you are. When you’re walking down the footpath, “Yes, I own this footpath.” When you’re walking around your house, obviously, you’ll be like, “I own this house.” Even if you’re renting, just still walk as though you own it.

Wherever you go – at work, in the street, walking down the corridor of a hospital, whatever – always be walking like, “I’m the CEO of this organization. I own this place.” And you’ll find that your stride naturally becomes more confident, your walk becomes more confident and you feel more confident. You feel more positive.

Have a go at this wherever you’re going this week. Practice walking like you own the place, and notice just how much more confident in your body you feel.
