Symbols are very important in a lot of cultures and many religions are filled with icons and symbols that signify things that we want to remind ourselves of. It’s useful to have symbols so that we can remember certain properties or traits that we may forget during our daily lives.

So what I’m suggesting here is getting a masculine warrior symbol, something that you can hang around your neck like this, and I’ll show you mine. If you have a bit of a look, this is what mine looks like. It’s basically any kind of symbol or medallion that you can grab and hang around your neck that looks kind of cool to you, that you like and that has a masculine edge to it.

You’ll notice on mine there’s a lot of sharp edges there, there’s a lot of prickly points and things and it looks kind of like grr. You don’t want to grab yourself something with too much rounded, sort of feminine sort of stuff going on here because the point is to emphasize your masculine qualities.

Now, there’s a couple of reasons to do this. One is simply that it looks kind of funky. It’s a bit of a conversation piece when people meet you. Often it makes it easier for other people to talk to you and to approach you because they can see that you’ve got something that’s a little bit unique, a little bit different there, and often once you have this around your neck you’ll find people coming up to you and asking you, “What is that?”

It’s good to have some kind of story behind it. What I usually say when people ask me about this is that it’s an ancient Nordic Viking warrior symbol. I don’t really know if it is or not, it’s just a funky pendant that I found in a shop up at Byron Bay. But even that’s a cool story.

Just make it up if you want, or if you managed to find a symbol that actually does really mean something in a culture that you can identify with, something to do with strength and power or being a warrior or conquering obstacles, overcoming difficulties, whatever it is. There’s a whole heap of ancient cultures out there, all of which have symbols, and if you do a little research you might be able to dig one up that matches the kind of traits that you want to be expressing in your own life.

If you can’t find a symbol from an existing culture, just do what I did and pick something that you reckon looks funky, and then you can just make up a story about it or just attach whatever meaning to it that you like, which is the way that iconic symbols tend to work.

I recommend that you grab yourself a masculine warrior symbol. Just whack it on a chain, stick it around your neck and start wearing it out in the big wide world, and just notice how much more receptive you become to other people approaching you now that there’s an instant conversation starter and something on you, on your person, that represents strength and power for you.
